No reason for caps. It shows for and it doesnt. Unless you sit in front of your pc 24/7 and watch it you will never see this. The alert doesnt stay there.
I saw it by accident purely, interrupted a Full Scan and there it was for a couple of seconds. I keep my screen off anyway.
I wouldn't make much of it.
Though, a couple of hours after that, when I shook the mouse I was presented with a sign inviting me to see the results of the Idle time full scan which ended 90 minutes before that.. That didn't happen last time. :D
Thank you folks.....
I do consider this thread Solved.
Sea_Monster,
The only two background tasks that will cause this notification to appear are the "Norton Insight Scan" and the "Idle Full System Scan". If they aren't running when you glance at your PC during idle, then you won't see this notification.
If you are really curious about what the Norton Product is doing in the background, you can leave the "CPU Usage" window open. From there, you can see the background jobs start and stop, as well as how much system resources were consumed during idle.

Mike
@MikeO
what happens when the job Idle Full System Scan interrupts , starts this job again at the beginning to scanning drive ?
Voyager10,
It picks up where it left off, even across reboots.

Mike
