I post here because I received a notification from Norton stating my antivirus protection had expired, reminding me of the horrible experience I’d had with Antivirus 2010…
I'd had issues with Norton antivirus in years past, but figured I'd give them a try again last year. -Boy! What a mistake that was!
In actuality, the Norton program WAS a virus and corrupted the registry in my machine so badly I had to resort to reformatting my hard drive to eliminate it. Even the uninstall ‘tool’ (Why wasn’t that sent with the program, I’ll never know.) nor taking the computer to a professional repair center was successful in returning the machine to service without wiping the drive. I spent hours online and off trying to resolve the issue, and stumped the 'product support' at Norton as well.
I just recently replaced that computer, and guess what product I DID NOT consider for my antivirus program? –You Bet’cha !!!
A year ago, I asked for my money back from Norton, but the process was so convoluted I gave up in disgust.
I sincerely hope you all have better luck with this company/program than I did.
Bye, bye, Norton, and good riddance!
