ccsvchst using 60% cpu

Here's my problem which no one at Norton help can solve. I upgraded from NIS 2009 to NIS 2011, Jan 14. Since then, about once a week to 10 days I find my laptop fan running full out and the cpu usage on the task manager to be frozen at 60%. This is all excessive, Norton. I have waited up to 24 hours for this to stop, and it won't, the only way to stop this is to reboot. After the reboot it is fine for a week then the problem recurs. I have installed NIS, using the Norton un-installer and reinstalled it . The problem remains. On this computer the OS is Windows XP SP3 home. Does anyone have any ideas. I have been using Norton products since 2002 without such an occurrence.
