Changing the default RDP port in Windows Defender

Norton 360 is controlling Windows Defender and will not let me change the default RDP port.  Is there a way for me to remove Norton 360s control over Windows Defender.

Well I think I figured out my mistake......... I forgot to put a port forwarding rule in my router with the port number...........  DUH!!!!

The Smart Firewall is Norton's firewall feature included in the 360 product.

To access the firewall settings you need to be logged into Windows with an admin account.

I do not have the Norton security firewall installed, it's using Smart Firewall and it says right at the top of the Windows Defender that "These settings are being managed by vendor application Norton 360"................ There is no apparent way to edit the settings in the Smart Firewall.

360 does not control Defender's features. When a third party AV product is installed, Defenders features are disabled. That is why you cannot make changes to the Defender Firewall.

If you need to make changes you will have to make a rule in the 360 firewall. Although you should not need to do so. I use Remote Desktop on my systems with no changes necessary.

You might try resetting your Norton Firewall. To reset the Norton firewall, from the main Norton Security screen click on Settings - Firewall. On the General tab, click on Reset beside Firewall Reset. Restart your computer. As you use programs that access your network/internet, the firewall rules will be created again.
