Checks for protection updates ok, but stuck on check for product updates(processing). Have to cancel update to stop. As it happens on all my pc's I think it may be a Norton problem. Norton 360, version 22.21.5.44 Windows 10 Home
The check for product updates in Norton liveupdate has been in the processing stage for ages on both my laptops
Working again in the UK as well. If there's a significant problem like this Symantec should flag it up itself and chat/ phone assistance if they have been doing so should about 90% of the time NEVER be telling those who are not as long in the tooth with using a PC to uninstall/reinstall the Norton software when that isn't even the issue.
About 90% of the time that is the last thing anyone should have to do.
Now LU works fine again in Italy too.
Well it's happening here too -- West coast. Someone from Italy makes it a worldwide problem. At least we know it's coming from Norton's end of the spectrum. FYI: My computer just finished the processing of the update, it completed -- so Norton fixed the problem. On the west coast anyway.
Same thing here. I've had to cancel it every time it gets to product updates.
Same here in Italy.
The previous postings confirm my own current experience but Permalink has said elsewhere that he's been told by Symantec they know about this and their on it, As long as they are as it's a pain in the rear getting Norton 360 on Windows 10 to just cancel all updates and get out of the way short of restart until back to normal.
I have also ran the Norton auto repair tool and ran a diagnostic check and it came back no issues found. So not sure whats going on with it. I have norton Security though
Same thing here, protection updates are all OK but gets stuck on product updates.
Same here. I have tried twice and the protection updates work but it gets stuck on the the check for product updates step. I tried rebooting but it is doing it again.
Also, whether or not the all of the options (device security, dark web monitoring, secure vpn, cloud backup, password manager and parental controls) alll show up on the screen is back to being a sometimes proposition.
The same goes for the VPN on/off option. Last week it turned itself on automatically which is good, but now that is a sometimes proposition as well.
Same problem here in Central Florida. Two machines running Win8.1 x64.
Same problem. Gets stuck on processing product updates. Eventually, (and I mean eventually - after about 30 mins) it goes through to completed and all goes green.
Definitely looks to be a problem at Norton's end. I would not mess about with my installation for now, I have a feeling it'll be mysteriously sorted soon.
