I have just found another very annoying problem with NIS. If the PC has been off for a few days, although it says System Status Secure, it will not do a LiveUpdate. Just had a notebook off for 13 days. Clicked on LiveUpdate, it checked, proceeded to download and install, but all of a sudden get an error message, saying the subscription had expired. It also asked me to reboot.
Now on reboot, the last update is still 13 days ago. Finally, after a long time, it asks me to check my subscripton. After doing so, I still have to click the LiveUpdate to get the system up to date. Why so complicated, when I still have 163 days left?
Hi vienna10,
Are the system date and time showing correctly on your PC? Having the computer set to an incorrect date can cause subscription and update problems such as those you mention.
I have seen this when a key has been used more times that the license permits. That is so say, that the problem can arise when for example a 3 PC license has been installed on a fourth PC. For a moment in time all machines work but then one machine tends to get kicked out but can be reinstated by simply running subscription status.
So can I suggest you consider whether at any time the key may have been installed on more than the permitted number.
