Hello,
I've been using the chrome browser as my secondary browser for the last month. It's super fast over Internet Explorer. Last night when done purchasing and downloading an MP3 album from Amazon, I opened up the settings for chrome and clicked on About Google Chrome, before logging out of Amazon. When I did, the dialog box said it was updating. I sat and watched, then got a performance alert that chrome was using 100% CPU. The music download was already finished and the tracks were in my music folder before this happened.
A short time later I was prompted to relaunch chrome to finish the update, which it did. It upgraded from 17.0.963.56 to 17.0.963.65. The googleupdate.exe is a start up item, so I was under the impression that chrome updated when opened if there was an update. I had chrome open for a few hours, so I don't know why it started updating when it did, and especially using 100% CPU. I searched for the info here at the site and didn't find anything, so I made this post.
Does anyone know if this is a Google issue or something else. Has this same thing happened to anyone else while using chrome.
