Ghost 15. Menu Tools > Manage Backup Destination > Clean up...
Ghost, "Suggested recovery points sets to safely delete are pre-selected for you."
I check the box and click Delete. All recover points are removed and thus I no longer have a backup anymore.
Why does Ghost 15 say (based on the list it auto-generates) that those recovery points can be "safely" deleted?
What's going wrong? Why doesn't Ghost realize it's recommending recovery points to be deleted that will result wiping out all my recover points for my backup? I would have expected Ghost would recognize my last base recovery point and delete any incremental I have that may have gone beyond that base point (i.e. are now captured in a more recent base recovery point).
If it matters, my backup job is configured to be 1 set that run incrementals daily and then creates a new Recovery Point set weekly. I also have Ghost automatically optimizing space so I would not expect I would never have any left over recovery points after a new week of backups since Ghost should be optimizing this for me, I thought, after it creates a new Recovery Point set.
Any suggestions why Ghost is listing more recover points under Clean Up Recovery Points than just those that can actually be safely deleted?
Thanks!
Ted
