I am running Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron, but cannot completely clean my document history with the Utilities. It always leaves 4 IE browser items, even though it claims to have removed them. I cannot then move on to bleach or defragment the hard drive. I ran the Power Eraser scan, and removed the one item it found, but htis made no difference to the original problem. Does anyone have any recommendations for fixing this problem?
Thanks, Dick.
The IE version is 8.0.6001.18702 and NU version is 16.0.0.126. I don't know how to identify the filenames that are left.
Cheers
Ian

Ian,
You might copy and paste the file list here so we can see what's being skipped and perhaps explain why.
Thanks
In XP, right click the start menu and select "properties". Under the start menu tab click the "customize" button.
Then you will see a button to clear the recent documents and program history.
If that doesn't take care of them chances are they are not under your user profile but under "All Users".
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\My Recent Documents
It's a hidden folder, you may need to change your view settings to see it.
In addition to the "All User" folder, every user profile on the system has it's own folder
C:\Documents and Settings\"User Name"\My Recent Documents
With "User Name" being the name of the users.

screenshots of what the IE Browser items are would help.
