Clicked on email link and background clicks

Hello, I accidentally went to a link that was sent by a hijacked email account while trying to investigate what the website was. I updated and ran a full scan by Norton 360, Malwareytes Anti-Malware, SuperAntiSpyware, but the most I picked up were tracking cookies. I deleted everything from the beginning of time on my Chrome browser.

But I still hear background clicks whenever I'm surfing with Chrome...any possibility why this is happening and what this means?

Thank you for your time!

Hi Jbma,

Hello and Welcome to Norton forums.

It doesn't seem to be problem with the security. It might be due to a windows sound settings. Try the steps mentioned below

1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices.
2. Click the 'sounds' tab. In the window, scroll down to 'Windows Explorer' and in the sub menu, highlight 'Start navigation'
3. Pull down the drop down box below, where it currently says 'Start' or 'Windows Start' and choose '(none)' instead.

4. Click 'Apply', then click OK, and close the Control Panel.

Please try these steps and let us know if this helped.
