I am a new Mac user. I've always had HP PC's, but got adventurous and got a Mac. I've always used Norton antivirus products, and for the past few years have been covered by Comcast's version of 360, since they offered it for no charge. I understand that it tends to lag in updates compared to the stand alone version of Norton, but it has always served me well. It has blocked a few serious intrusions in the past.
My question is, does it hurt anything to use Comcast's Norton for Mac on my Mac? I know that most people say that Mac can't get viruses, and most discussions about this devolve into a Mac vs PC argument. But I liked the Identity Safe for my passwords, and the Safe Search aspects of the product. Both of which I assume would work on the Mac.
My old PC was 6 years old, and I did not really notice any slow down due to the Norton. So simply put, am I doing any harm in using this Norton product from Comcast.
Thanks for your help
