Comcast NSS Can't Be "Turned On"??

I have recently installed Comcast's version of Norton Security Suite onto my laptop. It runs fine for a little while (anywhere from an hour to a day or so) then disables itself. It can't be opened, launched, or turned on in any way. In the system tray, Windows shows an error saying my virus protection is not turned on. I try to do so, and get a prompt asking if I trust the publisher. Regardless of which answer I click, nothing happens. Norton will not turn out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many, many times. I tried using System Restore to restore back to the first day I got my laptop (I've had it about a month now). Reinstalled everything.... same problem.  Can anyone help me out here?

 

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) on a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E420 laptop, with an Intel Core i5 processor.
