I posted this in the NIS 2009/2010 forums because others there were having the same problem but since no one answered, I'll try here. I'm using Comcast Security Suite. Downloaded it and removed Norton 2009. I did this because I had started having problems with Norton 2009 and Comcast had recently started offering it. Downloaded the Security Suite with no immediate problems.
Last 3 days have had problems with Norton error messages -- mostly definitions out of date, despite the fact that they have been updated frequently throughout the day. I have to run Live Update several times to get the definitions to download and they alway download 65 + mb. This has happened about six times in the last 3 days. Also, I get random windows messages saying my virus protection has been turned off. Norton disappears from the taskbar and can not be opened. All I can do is shut down and restart and Norton reappears.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. These are the same sort of problems I was having with Norton 2009 before I removed it. I use the Comcast Security Suite on my laptop with Windows XP and have had no problems whatsover. I'm wondering if this is a problem with Norton & Windows 7. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I really like Norton and want to keep it, but this is proofing to be very unreliable as I never know when it is going to shut off.
I also use malwarebytes and have nothing but clean scans with it and Norton.
Thanks.
