Comcast switch and computer freezing

Can someone tell me what to do?  Comncast just switched to Norton from McAfee.  All of a sudden, the computer freezes up all the time.  How do I prevent the freezing?

[edit: Clarified subject.]

Where to start???

Did you download COMCAST Norton Security Suite (CNSS) from the COMCAST website?

Did you have any other anti-virus priograms besides McAfee installed on your system before install Norton?

Did the Norton go thru the removal of McAfee?

Did it then install the CNSS?

Did you get any errors messages?

What happens when you reboot?

That ought to do for starters.

Big ditto to yank's reply plus.....did you verify your pc meets stats required for comcast norton?

It is very unlikely that installing one brand of antivirus software over top of a competing brand will make a clean removal.  The McAfee removal tool should have been used, and then a check with a cleaner to make sure all the files were removed prior to the installation of Norton.  Security software has to be very sticky and difficult to remove to protect itself.

McAfee Removal Tool if you do not have it already.

Hello adge

Did you have a malware free computer before switching to Comcast Norton Security Suite? You can run a full scan with the free version of Malwarebytes to make sure you don't have any malware on your computer that McAfee may have missed.  You can post the log by clicking on the add attachment link after you have saved the log that will popup on notepad. Please save it to your desktop and then you can post it.

Download the free version, install and update then run a FULL scan. After the scan completes you should post the logs back to this thread.

You can find Malwarebytes here

http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

It is a safer location to get the program from than malwarebytes themselves because some malware creators have large lists of sites that they block. Please be careful to down load the correct program ----the FREE version of MALWAREBYTES

(Thanks to Delph for providing the alternative site)
