Hello, I just had a very unpleasant experience with the Norton customer service team. The representative, named Daksh, was very rude, and gave me very little help over the phone. He was berating me, and overall being very harsh. I am a long time subscriber of Norton 360 Deluxe, and instead of trying to help- he was pushing me to add on more to my already expensive and extensive plan. I realize that I am not alone in this, and I urge Norton to retrain or reevaluate their employees- lest I switch to another service.
Today I asked a similar question, the rep insisted I let him use LoMEIn or something like that , I told him that doesn’'t work with that won’t solve my question. he proceeded to remove everything that was norton, tried to install Avast, that didn’t work and was into my documents and I kept texting to stop. Finally, I unplugged the computer. Rebooted, removed that (#)$)# program, put back on the antivirus, did a system scan, checked my system files, deleted what he did and then sent an email to the company stating that this person had little knowledge and would not do what I wanted them to do in the first place, simply connect me to tech support and remove a file off their server like they did before. Not a happy camper, next year looking for a different service other than this
@Weatheraardvark I will escalate this to the appropriate Admin for review. This is nonsense, a recent support chat of my own was similar in that, the first thing presented was a login of my device. I said a quick HE** no making it clear that wasn’t going to happen. My issue wasn’t resolved but I did watch them rename a bogus subscription to a trial version, even got screenshots of it before hand. The support tech denied doing so. However a download of my data that Norton collects says otherwise. Please watch your private message inbox for a message from someone Norton.

@Weatheraardvark I’m following up to see whether anyone Norton has contacted you for a resolution to this issue. Please advise.

Somebody called and I couldn’t understand a word they said said I’d have resubmit everything with detail and advance and you know I’m just giving up. I’m not gonna renew and I have some time like six months to find maybe another program I know Norton 360 is more for Windows program and they’re just sort of picking up at Apple Mac on the way I guess I’m just gonna worry about to say hey at antivirus I can find if I have crappy mail. I’ll delete it myself not renew the program when the expiration date comes up and see what’s new for 2025 out there but no nobody contacted me and as far as I’m concerned, they have this crappy service as their buddy asked as a vast
to give you the short version. I am going to rely on the anti-virus protection. Security suites for Apple Mac are few and far between. So this is where I am . The 360 subscription expires in July 2025. I am going to let it do that and look for something else. Their Email security is bogus, plenty of crap mail gets through and I just delete it. I have no idea what their email security does as it doesn’t seem to be worth it. It expires in October, and Iam not renewing it effective now. The tech support is lacking. when i gave them the case number they wanted to mess with my settings and was not understanding it was something on their server that had the error , nor would they advance it. Their techies are foreign language with limited English speaking or undertanding. Avast has the same issues. So where I ended up, no one called as either they figure if they wait long enough I will go away. The anti-virus is what is needed. Norton has a good rating, and what I will do is wait it out, let the antivirus do its protection, look for something else. Bitdefender, intego, Avast, TotalAv just waiting it out to see if anything improves in 2025, which is real close. Oddly, with all the televison showing Apple macs, why no one is really working on something that works with it. the norton deluxe the back up, doesn’t work neither the password. I use 1 password , Dashlane i s excellent too, but that is where I am. I doubt their tech support willl do anyting and their logmein is a host of trouble .
@Weatheraardvark Thanks for the post back. I too am awaiting the new release to get its act together. I am also NOT suggesting users revert back to the version prior to the new release to take anything away from the Norton side of things. Actually, its an attempt to convince folks to wait things out before making anxious decisions. The holidays through the new year is always a bad time for things like this to take place.
