Completely removing Norton 360 from my Mac

My Mac is running very slowly at times, I want to completely remove it from my Mac. I’ve tried searching how to do this on the web, but the instructions I’ve seen for removing the program seem long, tortuous and don’t actually work for me. I always fall at the first hurdle - that being - to move Norton to trash from the applications folder but I can never do this because a message informs me Norton is in use. But Norton is not present in the ‘Force Quit’ table so I am stymied. Help please! Norton seems to make it very difficult to remove their products.

So, doc here does not help?
Before you follow the below steps, ensure that you close your Norton application, if it is already opened.

Hello @yellowtriumph

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v102526177

appears DocID: v102526177 changed

I downloaded this and got an error message that said it couldn’t be verified, so my choices were trash or quit. I’m beginning to think that one can’t uninstall Norton

@KATHLEEN_KAIL Do you have admin privileges when using your Mac?

Edited: And you are using the remover from this link?

Yes to both. I may have been able to get rid of it using AppCleaner. I cancelled my coverage a long time ago and am still getting spammed to pay!

Is autorenewal disabled in your Norton account? By spamming to pay do you mean that are you getting random Norton e-mails, popups that may or may not be Norton?
