Computer is much slower after installing Safety Minder

I have just completely reinstalled my computer OS & applications after a recent "crash".  It was really quick to start up. 

 

However after installing Safety Minder, my computer takes significantly longer to start up.  Firefox 3.5 also takes longer to start.   It seems alright once the programs are running.

Can you uninstall Norton Safety Minder to confirm that it is the one causing the issue. We have yet to have any reports of slowdowns. Could you also tell us the version of OS, hardware vitals etc...

 

 

As for Firefox 3.5, this is currently not a supported browser, in fact our BHO (Browser Helper Object) won't even load, so I don't think Norton Safety Minder can be causing your slowdown for Firefox. Are there any other plugins you have added to Firefox?

I will get my stop watch out, load and unload Safety Minder, hopefully this week-end.   Given your comments,  I wonder if the OS was downloading or installing updates at the time.   At the PC OS had only just been rebuilt. 

 

re: Not yet supporting Firefox 3.5.   This would explain an error message I've seen.   I use NoScript, SiteMinder and Google Notebook.   However Google Notebook not longer works with FireFox 3.5.
