From my previous thread about Symantec Service Framework, I was suggested to give NIS10 a try.
After two weeks ofswitching to NIS10 from NIS09, I find my Vista computer performing slower than when NIS09 was installed. Particularly the time "from boot up to all system tray icons appear to being able to start any program without lag" got longer with NIS10 installed. Anyone with the same problem?
I tried the optimizer, only to find that after two hours without computer activity, it was still working on my first (primary) drive. I ran out of patience, and cancelled the optimization. I checked the harddisk and found files spread all over the drive, for eg., windows files were in different blocks at different locations, and a 800MB game sitting at the beginning of the drive, at the middle, and even the end of the drive.
So, if I were to uninstall the game, it would leave blanks everywhere, and I have to optimize the game again? I need a "Norton Insight" into the optimizer, anyone?
