Tried the full reputation scan again. Still got the error that there is no internet connection. Do I have to configure something in NIS 2012 to connect to the internet, because as you can see I am connected to the internet, or I wouldn't be able to post this?
Guess I really need to do a re-install of NIS 2012?
@ Spotteddog - Re: the Rep Full Scan, I really don't think reinstalling will solve the problem. If it were me (and it is ) I wouldn't bother doing it. If you uninstall and clear everything Norton related from your computer it might work for a short time, but in all likelihood the problem will return within a day or two - or after a reboot.

Wait it out a day at least. There doesn't have to be anything wrong at your end; there could be a server on the way to Symantec that is going up and down, in which case neither Symantec or you can do anything about it. Everyones internet traffic takes a different route, and just because someone can connect 100% stable to a server doesn't mean someone else can too, if his traffic takes another way which happens to cross a server that is acting up intermittently.
I was having this trouble yesterday using NIS 2011, and have had similar issues in the past. It seems to be a server connection problem. Later in the day, after installing NIS 2012, I was able to run a Full Reputation Scan successfully. Retrying at a later time has always resolved the issue for me.

It seems to be consistantly down for me. Tried again today...
My XP Machine connected to the same router can connect to the server

Reinstalled NIS2012 and it was working until I rebooted. Thrice I did that!
I think my scan topps everything, that I rad here...I've got approximately 1,2 Mio. files, Norton 2011 scanned these within a night (let's say 6 hours and then my pc idled until the morning), yesterday I tryed a first full scan (my options are all on the level, that I don't trust any application and in aggressive mode heuristics) and it took....
16 (SIXTEEN) hours to complete! This is really, annoying, I mean, it's cool, to know, that I'm don't infected, but what a price..phew..
