Computer wont go into sleep mode

So I ran CMD an typed processcfg -requests to see why my computer wont go into sleep mode an its been coming up with -

SYSTEM:
[SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files\Norton Security\Engine\22.20.5.39\NortonSecurity.exe (NortonSecurity)

Does anyone else have this problem an or a know fix for it? Seems like when my wife uses Microsoft Teams and uses the Web Cam, Norton Kicks on an then wont let me computer go into sleep mode unless i restart my computer an it reset what ever Norton is trying to do.

Thanks for any info

You're most welcome. Wondering whether MS Teams is actually being properly shut down when sessions are done. That would require user intervention as the session would remain open locally although the actual remote session was closed. I have safecam enabled on my laptop ONLY when I need the webcam for conferencing or assisting a customer, but I never allow my devices to sleep nor hibernate. I've had serious issues in the past with hibernation/sleep to the point where I had to reinstall the OS. Circa Windows 7. One last thought is whether you have allowed / added the programs in question into the safecam settings?

safe cam program access setting.pngCheers

I am running windows 10...But last night I disabled the Safe Cam on Norton settings and this morning the wife had to use Microsoft Teams for her meeting with the camera and when she got done she closed out of it an went about her business and the computer put it self into sleep mode.

So I'm wondering if it has something to do with Norton an the Safe Cam setting being ON? Maybe I will turn it back on Tuesday when she does her meeting again in Micro Soft Teams an see if Norton is throwing that code again under Command Prompt. If so I guess I will just deactivate Safe Cam.

Thanks again for all the help!!

I assume you are using Windows 10 so we will go with that not knowing for certain. In control panel, look at your power settings. Disable fast startup and reboot. Here is how to accomplish that in case you aren't familiar with it. Let us know your results.

It is there. It is just that you are a new user and images need to be approved by a moderator. Gurus can see them immediately to help you in a timely manner.

Not sure why the Photo isn't showing up? Followed the instructions from the link you sent?

So i turned it off an ran powercfg -requests to see if that would do anything an it didn't. So i turned it back on before i took a screen shot. But this is all that it came up with when i looked in the quick search. Hopefully this is the search History i need to be in.

Hello spamman. Open your Norton history and look for entries in SafeCam, please post anything you find related for review. Here is how to post images. Posting a screenshot: https://community.norton.com/en/comment/8292611#comment-8292611
