did you try to just disable the firewall? Or is that too easy?
Yes! I disabled the firewall and on the Protection Center i got a status of "At Risk" for my Inbound firewall and Advanced Firewall and Norton started Showing RED X as my status with a fix now button. So i was not sure what is the nicest or grace way of doing it so that i will not always see my computer AT RISK.
Thanks,
RT
Thats not possible. If you don’t want to see that , you will have to downgrade to NAV 2008

Maybe there is a way not to have to double your investment, perhaps .....
I think Symantec offer a money back warranty period -- I'm not sure if it is 60 days or 90 days -- so you could invoke that if you are within the time frame.
If you bought NIS2008 in a store and are within the time frame go back to them first since they have an arrangement with Symantec to honor it if you bought from them.
If you have a problem with them being stubborn about "opened software" then get in touch with Symantec and they will help you.
Then you can buy the NAV if you prefer that -- remember you can download trial versions free and use for 15 days (?) so don't buy without trying!
I'll try and get a Norton Staffer to confirm about the warranty if you confirm you bought it within that sort of time frame.
Thanks for the option. i will see what i can do.

If you are answering my message, keep an eye open here in case one of the Norton Staffers (names in red) can chip in with what to do.
For most Symantec consumer products, the return policy is within 60 days; see this link for more information. The site also provides links to return the product. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks!
Many thanks for the information and the link.
I searched the Symantec website for [money back warranty] but got nothing relevant!
