Conflicts with Foobar 2000

Hi,

It seems that when I exit out of Foobar 2000 media player, it remains running in Task Manager > Processes. Once two or more  Foobar processes are running, I can no longer get 360 to update or scan. I must  end all of the processes and then 360 fires back up. Any ideas what could be causing this? Im using XP.

Thanks

Hi,

do you run the latest stable Foobar 2000 version /version 1.1.7/?

Yes, I was using v1.1.7  and have tried several other older releases too. Im currently using v0.9.4.5 with the same problem.

Can you please tell us the exact version of your Norton product?
1. Open the main window
2. Click on Help & Support -> About menu
3. On the About window find the version number (it will look like this: 5.1.0.29)

Thanks!

5.1.0.29 is the version listed.  I just went through the problem a moment ago. After using Foobar several different times yesterday, I had three Foobar processes running. I next tried to do an individual file scan and 360 didnt respond. I next ended one Foobar process and still no response. Once I ended a second process, 360 scan screen popped up and scanned the file.

Thx

Hi,

please try this out:

1. Right click on the Norton icon by the system clock

2. Click on Turn off Auto-Protect

3. Set duration to 15 minutes and click OK

4. Run Foobar

5. Close Foobar

6. Check it in Task Manager

7. Run another Foobar instance

8. Close it

9. Check Task Manager again

10. Reenable Auto-Protect by the same place

Let us know the results.
