I recently changed the password on my Norton account. I can access the account with the new password on my PC, my Windows 10 tablet, and my Android phone. However, on the phone, contact backup in Norton Mobile no longer works. I can get to the contact backup screen in the mobile app, and log in (I can see that I am logged in because it knows how many days I have left on my subscription), but I still can't backup the contacts. It just keeps asking me to log in. I have cleared the cache and restarted the phone. Help, please.
Hi, I am having this problem again, but the previous solution no longer works. I can't find the Device Administrator setting at all. Did the app change? Thanks.
The app data being greyed out is a protection feature of the NMS app. Go to the NMS app settings and scroll down to the Anti Theft section. Turn off the Device Administrator setting. You should now be able to clear the app Data in Android Settings.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I can log into the web site. However, on the phone, the option to clear the NMS app data is grayed out. I have cleared the cache and restarted the phone, and that didn't have any effect on the problem. Also, I saw that there was an option on the web site to initiate a backup. I tried that, and it didn't work either. It said that I needed to log in again on the device, which I did, but the backup still failed.
Try logging into the Norton Mobile Security, NMS, web site with the new Norton Account info. https://mobilesecurity.norton.com
If that works correctly, go to Android Settings - Apps, and look for NMS. Clear the app data and restart the phone. Then you will have to log into your Norton Account again, and then try the backup.
