Copy Hard drive ghost 15

I have a 60gb ssd and I am attempting to upgrade to a 256gb ssd.  On the 60gb I have one 100meg partition (system reserved) and the rest is windows 7 and a few other things.  I have copied both partitions to the new ssd (creating g: and h:).  I got the error bootmgr missing.  I used my windows disc to repair the installation.  When I boot onto the new ssd it deems my copy of windows not genuine.  I have disconnected the 60gb ssd when booting from 256gb.  Should I have not created two new partitions on the new ssd?  Will the hidden system partition get copied correctly?  I figured I could just pop in the new drive, install ghost (which came with the new drive), copy hard drive and be done with it.  It's not working out that way.

What have I done wrong?  If my 60gb is C: and my 256gb is G: can I just copy hard drive, repair startup problems, and format the 60gb, pull the 60gb out, change drive letters and be done?

TIA for the help.
