Just to update on this issue with NAV2004: so, far there is no solution.
When I click on the 'Quarantine' report option, I get the error message indicating that 'Norton Antivirus Quarantine Console has experienced a problem and needs to shut down.....".
When I select the 'More Info..' link, it refers to a DLL file title 'ecmsvr32.dll'.
HOWEVER, when I revise my 'definfo.dat' file to an earlier version of VirusDefs (which happens to contain an earlier version ecmsvr32.dll), the Quarantine Console runs fine.
Can someone at Symantec let me know if this is a known issue, and that it is being addressed?
I just renewed my subscription, so I would like to know if the subscription is solid otherwise I will refund.

Hi SK,
We are working on fixing this problem. It will be fixed soon.
Thank you for your information.
By the way, I would suggest switching to NAV or NIS 2009 instead of renewing your subscription for NAV 2004. I understand that subscription for NAV 2004 does not entitle you for new releases (subscription to NAV 2007 or later does). However I think if you call to our customer service you may be able to negotiate some kind of deal to change your NAV 2004 subscription for NAV 2009.

Thanks Victor.
Any further news Victor? I am still getting this message with NIS 2005. I renewed ny subscription in August.
Hello Victor?
Any news? Any direction where Norton is heading with this?
I provided some assistance as to where the problem appears to be stemming from....is anybody at NAV looking at this?
What is the resolution?
I need to know now!!!
SwiftKick
Hello SwiftKick,
Did you follow Victors advise and contact Customer Service regarding having your subscription changed from NAV 2005 to NAV 2009? There have been a significant amount of program updates and changes in the last 4 years.
Are you saying that I should not have renewed my subscription to NAV 2004, and instead should have purchased the upgrade to NAV 2009?
Why did not Norton advertise to UPGRADE rather than RENEW?
The subscription works, but by renewing part of the renewal 'broke' part of the software. What's the point of renewing if it is broken?
What is Norton AV going to do about this?
Hello SwiftKick,
I would still advise you contact Customer Service so that we can best assist you. That is the one single advice that I could give to you that would help resolve these issues. If you do not wish to call them or chat with them, you can e-mail them.
I too am experiencing the same crash/error when I attempt to run the Quarantine Report.
I am using NAV2004 (just renewed last month)....

[edit: Moved from a thread in the 2009 Beta area, subject updated.]
Additionally: I am also using Version 10.0.29.4.
