Creating a recovery dvd

I downloaded the 30 day trial for Ghost 15. I bought the activation key off ebay. I do not have a disc to create a recovery disk. Is there another way to do this?

Hi mb40sr,

Welcome to the forum. So you purchased Ghost 15 from Ebay from another user or what?

Thanks

Allen

Yes. I bought the activation key from him and he emailed it to me.

Hi Mb40sr,

Thanks for the update. I am honestly not sure how this works since you purchased this from an individual user. The concern is that if he also continues to use Ghost with that license and then you do so as well, it would be a violation of the license rights. Did Ghost accept your activation key? I think you need to be really careful about this. By law if he sold this to you he would have to remove Ghost from his machine so as not to be in violation of the license. Beyond that, this is a pretty unique situation and I am not sure how Symantec views this.

In either case, only Symantec Customer Service can answer this question for you. If they deem the license key to be valid they will supply you a link to download the ISO image so that you can burn the recovery CD. Please contact them to discuss this.

The key was new.

Hi Mb40sr,

I was only being cautious and letting you know to be careful and was not meant to imply you did something wrong. But no one on the forum can give you a link to download the ISO image. This is something only Symantec Customer service can do for you. The link to customer service is in my last post.

I wasn’t trying to come across in a bad way. The program accepted the code. I’m trying to contact norton now through the link you gave.

Hi Mb40sr,

No I know you weren't, no problem. Hopefully you won't have to wait long for the chat option with customer service, sometimes they get pretty busy.

Please let us know how it turns out.

Thanks

Allen

The key was legit. The guy helped me download the ISO file (for recovery disc) and put it on a DVD.

Hi Mb40sr,

I'm happy this worked out for you and thank you for coming back on to let us know how it went.
