Creating Rule to block IP's

If I understand this is how you do it?:

 

Norton Internet Security

  • Step 1

    Open Norton  and click "Settings" in the field "Internet."

  • Step 2

    Click "Advanced Settings: Configure" under "Smart Firewall."

  • Step 3

    Click "General Rules: Configure" and then the button "Add."

  • Step 4

    Select the radio button "Block" and click "Next."

  • Step 5

    Select the radio button "Connections to and from other computers" and click "Next."

  • Step 6

    Select the radio button "Only computers and sites listed below." Click "Add" and type the IP address you wish to block in the field. Click "OK" and then "Next."

  • Step 7

    Click "Next" twice since the default settings are appropriate.

  • Step 8

    Type a descriptive name for this firewall rule. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to create the rule that blocks the IP address.

    Now at the end of following these steps it asks  "When packet is from NAT traversal (e.g. tuledo or something???

     

    It ask to apply this rule???  Yes or NO?  Thanks for any help.

    You should answer Yes to the NAT question to totally block that one IP.  Other than that, you have the rule creation correct.  Just remember to move the rule to the top of the list after you create it as the rules are applied in a "top down" filter method.
