CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED Windows 11 Pro Crash and Reboot to Wireless HTTPS errors every 8-10 minutes

I don’t even know what to say about this error.
It seems every time Norton Updates to the latest version, my system has some major issue with it. While I really like Norton Anti Virus, it’s the best out there, and I like VPN, I’m so done with the issues.

Detailed description: My internet provider performed maintenance Nov. 2, 2024. Windows did an auto config update, Nov 2, 2024, in the early am. Saturday (Nov. 2, 2024), I logged into my system as normal, saw notices about the updates and 10 minutes later, my system crashed, with the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error. Then the system reboots to a screen where it tries to use Wifi to restart but it can’t find the Wifi network.
I immediately think my provider changed something, so I contact them. They test everything and everything works fine.
So I think okay, it’s a hardware issue. I test all the hardware components. Nothing fails.
I notice Windows did an update ‘Other’. Well I figure it has to be a windows issue right? Nope, did a restore to a point before the update. Still have the same issue. System keeps crashing every 8 - 10 minutes. After 20+ crashes, I’ve had it, and give up for the day. Sunday arrives, and I figure, okay, what else could it be? I try my provider again. They change the network address. Test all connections again. 10 minutes later, laptop crashes. Maybe it’s a cable? I change all the cables, (yes I have spares). Still have the same issue. Shut down for the day. Monday rolls around. I fire up an old Surface pro running Windows 10, which also has Norton 360 on it. It updates Norton as soon as I start it up. An hour later, it crashes. Then I think, maybe Norton is the problem. I wipe Norton from my laptop, and guess what?
No more crashes. In fact my system has been up and running for the last 3 hours. Of course I don’t have a VPN which is ticking me off. And I’m stuck with Windows Anti Virus. At least it’s something. Will I reload Norton? No. I’ve had it. I’ve spent 3 days trying to get my system running. I’m self-employed. This has cost me countless hours of wasted, unproductive time, and now left me without a VPN. I get that updates aren’t easy because everyone has different systems. Maybe simplify things, and skip all the damn bloatware. I wonder if that would help. I’m sick of being hammered to buy crap I don’t want, when the app I have won’t even work. All I want is a VPN that works, and an Anti-Virus program that works. That’s it. Clean, simple. So no, I won’t be renewing either.
There has been an ongoing issue between Norton 360 and Windows 11 Pro. I haven’t been able to use my Thunderbolt docking station (Dell) because of Norton 360. Now that I unloaded it, the docking station is working fine.

Product & version number: Latest version of Norton 360

OS details: Windows 11 Pro

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

The process in your screenshot is a Dell product not Norton. Did you allow Software Update or Driver Updater to run on this PC and had this happen as an after fact? If so that is what caused your issue. What was the stop code that is hidden? It will tell us a bit more about what caused the issue.

Norton updates run automatically and yes, this was after updates. Norton has been a constant issue every time there’s an update. My point in the screen shots was this error happened after the updates. I have now removed Norton and have no issues. No more crashes. System is running just fine. But as I said, I’m disappointed not to have a VPN or an Anti Virus program (aside of Windows) sigh… but again, no VPN until I can figure out which one I can actually use successfully.

Thank you. Forgive me but lets start with a few questions for you:

On the affected computer what is the OS, its version and build?

Are you running in S mode or have an ARM CPU?

Are/were you using the web based version of Norton from the Microsoft store or a full suite install of Norton?

Do you have Software Updater and/or Driver Updater and allowing either or both to check for updates to both?

Just trying to get a better spectrum of what is going on to help you better.

Hi, see answers below
On the affected computer what is the OS, its version and build?
22621.4317 22H2 Windows 11 Pro

Are you running in S mode or have an ARM CPU?
No to both

Are/were you using the web based version of Norton from the Microsoft store or a full suite install of Norton?
Full install of Norton, not from MS Store

Do you have Software Updater and/or Driver Updater and allowing either or both to check for updates to both?
Both, but I manually do driver updates because of the conflicts I had with the older docking station I was using. It was a VT4510 which seemed to work okay with Norton. But it was also about 2 1/2 years old.
When I tried to use the Dell Thunderbolt dock, my XPS9520 would crash. Honestly, I could never figure out what the issue was, and neither could Dell, but there was definitely something with Norton VPN it did not like. Oddly enough, in two years, there hasn’t been any updates to the Dell docking station.
As I was trying to work out what the issue was this time, I did reinstall IP, IPv4, IPv6 IKe2 drivers, reset Winsock, and none of that worked either.
The network driver is at 23.60.1.2.
There is an update out that I already installed, but had to roll back. It caused a conflict last time I updated. I don’t remember what the problem was. It was a few months ago. :frowning:
