Installed lasted patch for Norton security (version 22.0.2.17) and then your product asks to restart the machine. I allow it after I shutdown all user applications (firefox, win excel, etc). But no shutdown occurs. I also try to do a shutdown from the start button, no luck there either.
I tried to use msconfig to shutdown the PC. msconfig reports that it can not shutdown the PC.
No obvious errrors in either the Windows event logging or in the Security logs.
PC is a HP dv7 (i7 processor, 8 Gb, etc) with windows 7.
All of the latest Windows patches installed on the PC.
Is there an easy to way to back out the patch?
Or run the patch by hand and then reboot the PC?
I have (I assume) the same patch installed on Windows 8. The Windows 8 machine shutdown/restarted properly.
