My Mother was upsold a three (3) month technical service package after calling Norton Norton for help removing a virus. The cost of this service is approximately $200.00 or roughly $66.00 per month.
I have been on hold for 60 minutes. At the 45 minute mark an agent picked up and told me that I can leave my name and number for a call back. I respectfully stated that I am unable to accept this because an approximate time for a call could not be provided. I can understand waiting on hold for a free (product linked) service.
How long should I wait? I am almost at $1.00 per minute on hold.

At the 120 minute mark the same associate picked up the call and could still not provide a call back time. He stated that he did not have any idea when the call would occur. I asked to be placed back on hold and my call was disconnected.
I called back New Image Technology at 1-888-598-7788 x301 and am currently on hold. Hold time currently 122 minutes (2 minutes straight).
One of the other gurus, Phil_D and I are both trying to get some information on this. It isn’t something we are familiar with, and, of course, this is a user to user help forum, so it can take some time to contact an appropriate Symantec representative for you. I’m not certain I would recommend continuing to hold on the phone at those rates.
Thank you. That is very kind and appreciated. I decided to take your advice and contact an online Norton representative. I have been in queue for around 35 minutes. I don't perceive this as a big deal because this service is free.
For the record, I have been on hold for a total of 43 minutes the second time (163 total). A gentlemen picked up and I requested a call back tomorrow around 6:00 - 6:30 PM. I really don't have any other options. Thanks for listening.

Sorry for the troubles - Is the above company and number where this technical support was purchased? Do you have any receipts? Also, which Norton product does she have installed?
