Delete the ghost "Norton Backup Drive" from my computer

My computer has a folder/drive/ghost/whatever viewable in MS Explorer/Computer, not online or anywhere where I might have told it to back up especially since it has never actually backed up anything. It is under Desktop>Computer>Norton Backup Drive. It is in the drive list> C: drive, the D: drive, The E:-DVD drive, Then Network drives M: & N: then IT(no drive letter designation.) However, it does not show up in dialog boxes, or in PowerDesk File Manager. And so far not in Size Manager, but it is still expanding folders.

Attempts to backup to the 2 GB online data storage give the error ‘not enough room' on the drive. [Note: when I go to the online drive, it says as best as I can tell no files. There is nothing there, zilch!] But on my computer there's this mess that has a whole bunch of files in it which I do not want saved. I tried changing the settings in back up, deleted back-ups and started over again, etc. I don’t think I want to use Norton back up at all.

I can’t make it back up what I want. It backs up program files and anything that has a picture in it of any sort, which are pretty much most programs but I don't want them saved. Meanwhile my actual picture directory is ignored as well as my documents. No matter what I do, selecting folders file or whatever it won’t keep what I want but adds in a bunch of files that are system and I do not need backed up, in case of system/hard drive failure I will have to re-add them all with  the installs anyway.

Not only that but the process of selecting the files you want to have saved is extremely cumbersome with the one item at a time and start all over again process. Then when you preview they aren’t there anyway. You can find my comments as suggestions in your product suggestion forum. I’d probably have more, but I’m giving up, at least for now. I don’t have time, but I need this thing off my computer NOW.

To wrap up, how do I get rid of that ghost drive, there is no easy way to tell, but I am sure it is using space. Thank you

Hi ckoshea,

Norton 360 provides the Norton Backup Drive in your Windows Explorer after you configure your backup. Norton Backup Drive contains a list of backup destinations where your files are backed up. Each backup destination contains the Backup Sets to which the backup destination is configured.

It also displays the files that you backed up to a media device(media device should be connected) and the Online Storage as well. (Should be connected to internet and logged in Norton Account)

This does not occupy any space of your computer as this exists virtually.

Please let us know if you have any concerns with this!
Thanks,
Ashwini.
