I've set up a new backup on an external hard drive for my computer, and hence want to delete the old backup (both created with Norton 360) since that backup is rather large (just short of 100GB) where the new one is about 13GB. (The old backup set dates back a bit over two years.) I deleted the backup set from the Norton 360 menu, but it didn't help the disk space any. (I suspect I missed an option to delete the files as well.) I tried deleting the old backup via the Norton 360 drive in my computer, but after two hours it had deleted 66 of 50K files, which would suggest a completion in something like eight weeks. I could also delete the N360_backup folder in theory, but that would delete both backups and leave me unprotected until a new replacement backup was done. Any recommendations on how to fix this and prevent other oversized backup files in the future? Many thanks for your help!
Hi Andrew,
Welcome to Norton Community, Have you backuped all your files in external HDD? i mean the old backup set. if so follow the below steps to delete all the backup files
-->connect the external HDD which you used to backup all your files.
-->open Norton 360 under backup select Manage Backup
---> you can see "summary", "what" "where", "when" select "WHERE"
It will show the list of drives in that you can see your external HDD as well.
-->highlight the drive which you used to backup your files below you can see "delete backed up files" select it and delete the files which you want to remove
You can also follow the same step if you stored your data on "Norton Online Storage"
