Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.CRT could not be found

After removing all Norton products using the Remove Tool, and reinsalling NIS 2011 and NU 15, and reinstalling the latest Norton Safety Minder, I still get the following four errors in the System Event Log:

1) Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.CRT could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

2) Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC90.CRT. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

3) Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\Norton Online\Engine\2.1.0.23\ccSvcHst.exe. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.

4) The Norton Online service failed to start due to the following error:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Therefore NSM is not running.  And advice will be appreciated.  Thanks.

1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package:

2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package:

3. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package:

Already tried the 2005, 2008 & 2010 redistributables.  Tried the 2010 SP1 as you suggested, still receiving errors after reinstalling NSM again.  Thanks for the suggestion.

And did you tried the RTM version of 2008 as well? That is the first link I gave you.

I installed the redistributables from the three links above.  I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean by RTM 2008 version, I don't see any other links.  Please send again for I'm still getting the same four errors after installing all the redistributables.   Again, thanks for your help.

RTM (Released To Manufacturing) is the finished version, what was released to the public.

 

 

Can you please try to remove the Norton Safety Minder ( https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/help.fs?action=uninstallingNSM ), reboot, and the reinstall it.

I'm sorry to say the results of the reinstall is the same as the previous dozen+.  I went to the link you provided, performed the uninstall as instructed, however, it did not prompt me for the Parent Email nor Parent password, it just went to Restart now.  There are 14 system event errors that occured during the uninstall, all relatively the same:

After the restart II went to https://onlinefamily.norton.com/familysafety/loginStart.fs downloaded the latest version, then on the reinstall it asked if children use this PC, I clicked yes, but then it did not prompt me to select names, it just installed, started services, then closed.  There was an icon in the systray which was the restart screen. The system log had the following errors:

Then after restart, same four errors again as the previous dozen reinstalls.  I tried to attached is an image of Add/Remove programs with the Redistributables installed but that is not allowed.  I don't know what more to do.  I must have messed something up that only affects this program.

I'm done with this, too tired of trying.  Thanks for your attempts.  I'll just keep my kids off this PC.
