Desktop ini file appears on the desktop

Anyone seeing a desktop.ini file with the following info appear on their desktops after a random live update session ? Anyone know WHY this is happening? This has happened before some time ago. I just  DON'T remember the cause / status / resolution.

Live update was just 2 files, neither of which should have caused a desktop/explorer close and restart/ user logging off the system.

History shows a user log off the system.

The Dev team is working on a few things. Sorting out this issue is one of them. Hoping someone changes the solution here soon.

Nothing yet. The PM I sent hasn't been viewed.

I accidentally click the post below yours attempting to set yours as the solution. Won't allow me to recheck a solution. I asked an admin to correct that and make the appropriate solution. Hope they see the PM about it in the am.

Very good.

Hmm, I see this thread is solved but I don't see the solution.

Dave you have the answer. Looking at this article its your suggestion that is the culprit. The ini file references a shared dll, my focus was on. I'm confused as anyone else about this being the only computer I have currently that I am seeing it on. Undoubtedly, I will make the correction on them all, although, its just an annoyance, one never knows what is trying jack up a computer. BETTER ASKED about than taken for assumption.

A couple of weeks ago I ran Live Update and was prompted to Apply Now, but as always I clicked Apply Later and checked Live Update history for the whole day and didn't see any updates that should have prompted me to restart.  I came to the forums and no one had posted about it so I just put it down to a possible update to the VPN as my other machine didn't receive whatever the update was.  My second machine does not have the VPN.

Over my pay grade I'm afraid.

Yes indeed. On all my machines. Never had any issues before now except on an Lenovo laptop which I no longer have. Seeing the ini file shouldn't be the larger issue. Logging the user OFF the system and a file explorer restart along with desktop app restarting is the main issue. Live update didn't offer anything that should have required that. What am I missing?

Do you have, "Show hidden files and folders" enabled?
