Have Nortons through Century Link. Problems started a few months ago with a Nortons update. At that time, was on Window 8. Norton's kept on telling me that my program wasn't compatible with Windows 10. I wasn't on 10. The computer would never sleep. Put it to sleep, would wake up. Uninstalled the program using the proper Windows uninstall method and was going to use Defender until my Windows 10 update arrived. Uninstalled, but still would not sleep. Every time I go to the computer a message is there that says: Norton Antivirus Online. Install an updated version of your Norton product for Windows 10. When one clicks on NEXT to do it, I get another box that comes up. Title is Norton Download Manager, Another download manager is currently running. Please wait and try again. If I go to DLM and stop it, doesn't help. After trying everything, I updated to Windows 10, in hopes that Nortons would be happy 10 was there. Still didn't change anything. Still every time I go to the computer, the Nortons box is there that wants me to install an updated version, but I can't, because DLM is currently running.
Spent 3 hours on the phone and also on chat with Century Link yesterday. They don't have a clue. Apparently they use a Windows 7 computer, so that was their excuse. Big waste of time. They game me a link to a Nortons website for further info. Went to it...the page doesn't exist.
When one goes to uninstall programs. No Norton products appear.
When one looks around the computer there are files in:
c: Program Files (x86). There is an Nortons Antivirus folder and a Nortons Installer folder
there are also files in
c: Users>Public>Public Downloads>Norton

Is there another cleaner I can try?
Trust one should not just delete the folders mentioned above.
When I looked at the program files under (x86), setup.exe properties it says Engine 64>22.5.2.15
I can also get the Live Update Error, Your computer may not be protected.
I have also seen Norton Antivirus online has encountered an error 3019.1
Have spent hours trying to figure this out. Century Link is no help.
If a kind sole could offer some advice, point me to another cleaner, it would be greatly appreciated. I used purchased Norton products for many, many years. Just started using the Century Link version a year ago. Thank you very much.
