Device Admin

Hi Guys.

I'm trying to uninstall Norton from my phone, but I ran in to some problems.

I'm trying to take away the Device Admin right for Norton but I can't.

I do the following

  1. From the Home screen, go to Settings.

  2. Go to Security settings, and then tap Device administrators.

  3. Next to Norton Mobile Security, make sure that the check box is unchecked. If it is checked, tap it to disable Device Administrator for Norton Mobile Security.

I can't uncheck the Admin for Norton, it says the following in Swedish.

Inställningar har tyvärr stoppats. (Settings have unfortunately been stopped)

So I can't do anything.

Any ideas?

Try contacting Norton Support to see if they can figure something out.   www.norton.com/contactcs

Please let us know if they are able to help. If not, I'll see if I can get some help from my contacts.

Hi.
Yes I have tried to diable and enable to see if anything changes. Its the same.
I have a Sony Xperia Z3, Android 6.0.1

If you do not know what rooted is, you probably have not done it. It is a process that lets you bypass all of Androids built in protections to install questionable apps.

Did you try disabling all other device admins and then see if you could disable Norton?

What device are you using, and what Android version? It could be some device specific issue.

I can disable everything exept Norton.

Rooted what is that?

Can you disable any other device administrators on your phone?

Is the phone rooted?

Thanks for answering.
I have tried both, doesn’t work.
It locked some how and I don’t know what else to try other than a factory reset.

Try restarting your phone. If that does not help, try disabling the Norton  Device Administrator directly from the Android Settings.
