Device displayed as "offline" in "My Norton"

Just installed the product today on my Windows PC . It is displayed as "offline" on my online account. What can be the reason?

CoolRaoul:
I've been told that my installation is fine and that the availability of the remote management feature may take as long as one month to be activated.

Hmm.... get it in writing wink

CoolRaoul:
I give up

~ the My Devices page in my Norton Account is notorious for being incorrect.
I gave up.  I ignore the My Devices page.  Just me.

Regards w Respect

I managed to fix the device offline issue using that procedure:

On the "Device Security" page from my.norton.com web site page I've switched my Chrome browser locale to US English (EN-US) using "Locale Switcher" Chrome extension

Instantaneously device status has switched green and "online"

I reverted to my native language locale (fr-fr)  and the fix look to became permanent

I really don't understand the magic involved here

**edit**

not working anymore : device back to "offline" state

I give up

I finally decided to contact Norton techical support by chat and remote assistance

I've been told that my installation is fine and that the availability of the remote management feature may take as long as one month to be activated.
So I've set up a reminder to check again in a month then.

I already had the “no updates available” on the first run

When running LiveUpdate it is suggested to keep running it until it reports no updates available. Then restart your computer once more.

CoolRaoul:
But, I  insist, the double restart sound very strange to me

by Repeat:
I meant Run LiveUpdate, again and Restart machine, again.
Sorry, I was not clear.

CoolRaoul:
I've to execute Live Update 4 times in total to fix my issue ?

new installs / new reinstalls & product updates may arrive in two+ parts

So, my thinking...Norton thinking...is...you may need...

You may need to run LiveUpdate and reboot a few times before your product is completely updated to the latest version.

~ your My Devices page may still report Offline

Just familiarizing you with Norton...based upon my observations.
Run LiveUpdate with machine Restart, may help.

1) after Norton 360 install => run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down). Repeat.  Norton 360 = v22.24.1.6 (at this time)
2) Review Norton Settings to your preference.
3) Run Diagnostic Report.
4) Run Norton Insight.
5) Run Norton Autofix.
6) Create Backup Sets to your preference.
7) run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down)
8) run Norton 360 Full Scan (once)
9) run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down)
10) user preference - change default launch view

I'm going to do all that stuff (including the double restart) and keep you posted

BTW it would be much easy to communicate if there were an option to force app UI language to English

after Norton 360 install => run Norton LiveUpdate + machine Restart (not Shut down). *Repeat*

But, I  insist, the double restart sound very strange to me

CoolRaoul:
And Dont forget that I've installed the product today for the first time ever.

fwiw ~ my clean install process

Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shut down and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here. (credit peterweb)

Run Norton Autofix to detect and repair common problems

done : no issue found.

Please run Norton LiveUpdate and Restart (not Shut down) machine. Repeat.

I didn't found how to run "Live Update"

Also, by "repeat", you mean twice ?

And Dont forget that I've installed the product today for the first time ever.

Yes, that's why I've prompted:
Please run Norton LiveUpdate and Restart (not Shut down) machine. Repeat = twice
Norton may take a day to settle in.

CoolRaoul:
I did'nt found how to run "Live Update"

Please right click Norton system tray button => Run LiveUpdate

Found Live Update and ran it:

CoolRaoul:

Providing my device is show as "offline", it looks that those functions are unavailable for me. Why ?

as to Why?  I don't know.  Just is, as I recall...always has been.  Sorry.

Sometimes my My Devices page reports Online & Offline for the same device.

~ then if still Offline
Maybe, ask Norton support.
Please review: How To - Contact Norton Official Support

Note: my Offline status is cosmetic.

Licence status is OK for my computer.

My issue is about "Remote Management"
in "Device Security""Administrative Settings". "Remote Management" is already turned on

According to that page :

You can use the My Norton portal to view, manage, or explore Norton products and fix some protection issues with your device remotely. By default, Remote Management is turned on.
