'Device locked because of sim card changed'

hi,

I am using Motorola defy+ android phone. I changed sim card and my mobile throwing error  'Device locked because of sim card changed'. And the worst thing is i lost my buddy sim card. is there any solution to solve this problem

Do you know what version of Norton Mobile Security you are using.?

 

Is it version 2.? or 3.0.?

 

If it is the older version being NMS 2.? you should be able to just have

one of  your Buddies whose numbers would have been used to set

up the Anti-Theft features SMS the message unlock to your devices

new number.

 

Example SMS message-    unlock

 

Otherwise let us know if you have the newer version 3.0 of NMS.

Sorry that i dont remember my version. i guess its version 2 not sure. And as i mentioned in my earlier post that i lost my buddy sim card. so i am stuck with that. is there any other solution to get my password.

Ah i see you were using your other sim card and mobile number as the Buddy

contact number for the Anti-Theft features.

 

And you have lost the Buddy number and sim card.

 

If i am correct then this would be quite a issue.:-(

 

Did you not set up more than one number.?

 

Something worth trying is to go to your teleco service providers store who might

be able to issue you with a new sim with the same Buddy number to replace the

one you have lost.

 

i would think proof of identity would be required like a drivers license or something

to get a replacement  sim card from the service providers store.

 

And if you get a new sim with the same number to replace the lost one then you

can SMS yourself the unlock message to unlock your device.

 

That might be worth a try if you have tried all of your possible passwords in both

lower and upper case.

You could also try and remember your password.  But don't forget it is case sensitive.

my phone locked 4 days back. i tried all the combinations of the password. i didnt get it right. . still i am trying. i just want to know is there any other solution i can try. 

ya i will try to recover my lost sim. but still any other solutions????

Not that I can think of at the moment.  The software appears to be doing what it was designed to do.

 

Have you not got any other buddies?  I thought the software encouraged you to set up more than one.
