When I log on My Norton account and go under "Manage Licenses" under the column "Device Name" some, but not all of the names are weird/wrong names that do NOT match the actual current names of the devices where Norton is installed which is making it IMPOSSIBLE to actually manage the licenses, as I am trying to uninstall on a computer I am taking out of service so I can have that license available for a new computer!
Please help! I called Norton and they were NOT helpful, they were supposed to call me back with a solution yesterday afternoon and they never did! Very frustrated and at a loss for what to do!
Folks!! Disable "Remote Management" under administrative settings in each device and reboot. After the reboot, re-enable that setting and reboot again. See if that changes what is seen in your norton subscriptions under "licenses" listing in your subscription.

Same Issue here. I agree: this is totally frustrating. I am going to remove all devices from my account and reassign the license to every physical machine I am currently using. This should do....I hope..
Others here may have more suggestions.
1) Did sysinfo, and once again the name from that does not match the names on Norton in EITHER place.
After looking in the secondary location, it seems more jumbled than before, here is a summary by the 2 locations:
1) In the Devices section, there's only 7 devices listed, one of which is listed twice and at least one is missing entirely
2) In the Manage My Subscriptions up top I have 10 devices listed but at least 2 of the names are random strings of letters that I can't match to anything, using sysinfo, or otherwise
Any and all insight on how to help and/or get somebody on the phone at Norton that can actually help (been over 24 hours since they promised to call me back, and still nothing) would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
Try running sysinfo from the Windows start button. The compare the entries there with the names you see in your Norton Account.
And just to confirm. You are looking at the Devices section of your Norton Account? Or are you looking at the Manage My Subscriptions page you get to by clicking on the user icon at the top right of the Norton Account page? The devices page is the one that has issues with device names. The My Subscriptions page is the one that has accurate information.
Yes, I know that's what they are supposed to be doing, but in certain instances they are not! (For instance on the current computer I am working on right now)
There was brief mention in their Help section that there may be an issue with incorrect naming, but there was no solution offered up.
Norton should be listing the name given to the device in Windows Settings > System > About. If you want, you can change the device name to something that better identifies that device.
