Hi,
I own a license for 5 devices. The licenses are used at a Win PC, two Android smartphones and two Android tablets.
When logging in to Norton I can set the device name in "My Devices" to identify the devices.
Unfortunately these settings are not reflected at "My Abonnements", there are still the generic devicenames.
So it is very hard to differ which device is which one...
Example: the two smartphones are Samsung devices, I renamed the device name to Sams01 and Sams02, in (W)LAN and Bluetooth connections this is reflected.
At Norton website I need to change the device names in "My Devices" manually to identify the devices exactly, but at "My Abonnements" the generic name "samsung_GFXXX" is still reported.
So if I need to remove a license from one device and transfer it to a new one, how can I ensure to remove the license from the desired smartphone?
I guess the generic name is from the manufactors ROM setting!?
As a feature request I would recommend that the Norton Mobile Security app should report a serialnumber or an IMEI in addition of the generic name.
If someone owns identical devices it should be mandatory to have an unique identifiction string.
By the way: all Androids are not rooted.
Is there any way to change the device name to have an unique ID?
Regards
