I do not know if this is related to any of the current problems with licenses and registration but I have been noting some odd events with my NAT plugin.
I have two Android phones both of the same make and both with the same version of Android. Both also have NMS loaded on them. They also both have the NAT plugin. Which was fine.
Then I uninstalled the NAT plugin from one phone for a while. Before reinstalling it I went onto the NAT website and removed the device at that end - so the web page showed just one device. All seemed well.
When I re-installed the NAT plugin on my main device it connected to the Norton Servers and registered it, but oddly with the device name of the other device. I then went back into the NAT web page and found two devices shown with the same name. By reading the details I could work out which was which and so used the facilities on the page to change the name of one of the devices. It seemed to allow me to do that but then it would not take any sneak peeks. So I tried to change the name back - it refused saying I could not have two devices with the same name - seems reasonable but why had it done it?
Another removal of the device, followed by a clearing of data on the phone and a re-registration, seems to have got both plugins working again but once again with both having the same device name. Pretty confusing.
It seems odd that the registration process does not allow you to set the registered name of the device. Also odd that the web page seems to let you change the name of the device but that then seems to break NAT.
I apologise for this somewhat rambling post but I am confused. I just hope that it is of some use to the Norton team and that things will become clearer.
Please let me know if you would like any more information.
