When I access my.norton.com and view the “Device Security” tab I see this:
None of your protected PCs or mobile devices are collecting data
Make sure all your devices are connected to the internet and have Norton protection installed so they can collect data for your Protection Report…
I have contacted support and they have been telling me it is a glitch in the system since June of 2024. When I access the “Report Card” in the Norton 360 product the Firewall tab shows 0 networks protected in the last 30 days, which is scary in itself. I also get constant Norton Product Error codes. They have been in my device and uninstalled and re installed the product multiple times but it doesn’t seem to help. I have the product that allows 3 devices but I only have it on one at this time, If I can’t get this product to work on one device why would I put it on another? Any help would be appreciated as customer support and the product itself seem rather clueless.
My error code is 0x64/file signature/low severity … The product itself knows its messed up but nobody seems to be able to tell me how to fix it. Seems a bit ridiculous, I guess maybe its time to find a new anti virus product. Thanks for the reply to my post, I somehow find it comforting to know I am not the only one experiencing this issue, even though that makes absolutely NO sense at all haha
I thought the “Remote Management” Button might as well be called the “Let hackers manage your Norton Products for you” Button. I only have one device and I never need to remotely manage it so I have it off. Am I misunderstanding what it does?
Remote Management in Norton 360 is just so your device can connect to your Norton Account to display the device information. It does not allow any remote access to your device from anywhere.
When I look at the description of what the Remote Management setting does it says:
“The Remote Management Feature lets you manage your Norton Protected Devices remotely. You can use your Norton account to view the status of your devices.”
A little confusing if you are like me and have the computer literacy of a stone ha
Hi,
Thank you for responding to my post. So I turned the remote management on, I still have the same issue with my protection report showing none of my devices are collecting data, however I think in some way it has alerted me to what is going on with the constant error reports. After I turned it on I got a message saying Norton was going to be upgrading my product, that no action would be necessary, just make sure automatic live update is on. I ran live update with no results so I just sat back and waited for auto live update to run. When it did I still got no upgrade, but along with it came an error report with a different error code. It is 0x800700DF and tagged as high severity. I looked it up and it said it is usually associated with a program trying to download a file that is too large and the time stamp on it was a few minutes after the auto live update ran. Also your post made me realize I do not have the upgraded Norton product, mine looks the same as it always did. I would include a screen picture but I have no clue how to do that. So I think the errors in data collection and the constant error reports are possibly related to the product trying to upgrade itself and not being able to. I have no idea how to go about fixing this issue so any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I asked someone else about it and they said they think I need to change something in my registry that limits the size of files that I can download. They also said if I don’t know what I am doing, (which I don’t) I shouldn’t mess with my registry and I should have a paid professional do it. I asked if she thought the support folks at Norton would be able to help me with it and she said maybe, but the Norton “techs” that you first talk to when you call are sales people not technicians, so she doubts if they will be able to assist. Any help or guidance in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again
First the error 0x800700DF indicates a limitation that is set for devices that have the file system set at FAT32. It would be hard for me to understand how Windows 10 or 11 would be installed in that manner. Unless your devices has older EEMC storage that is limited. The other issue this error presents is the maximum system memory allocation is being exceeded. Again, modern Windows 11 devices come normally with at least 8 GB system memory. So if your hardware is older that can be the issue. In another instance this error can also signal there is malware that is hidden. Not knowing what your device hardware specs are that too cannot be answered. I would first run a system scan with Malwarebytes to rule out hidden infection.
Check your system specs: Windows 10:

Posting a screenshot would help. Please edit any identifiable info from your screenshot such as product ID, device name, and product ID. Here is how to post a screenshot.
Thank you for the reply and the information, I have things to do this morning that I can’t put off, when I have some time later today or perhaps this evening I will try to do this, for now I have a Dell latitude 5590 laptop I upgraded to windows 11 it has 8gb Ram and that’s about all I know off the top of my head. Thank you again
@RumpleStilskin Following up with you to see what your status is.
Edited: It appears that you should have at least an Intel i7-8650u processor, and, it is Windows 11 compatible. So that removes one possible issue I had thought of. Your system memory is more than ample as well.
I am 84 years old and have subscribed to Norton for more than a decade. I have never figured out how it works. Often, I am asked to change my password which is a nightmare. I have tried to get assistance from support bit I never get to speak to a real person. I still keep paying my subscriptions though!
