I’m having trouble getting large updates with my slow dial-up connection. This is what happened to me to day.
1. Downloaded an 18.96MB update, apparently successfully, via Live Update. It failed to install.
2. Tried again later. This time it said that the update was 43.92MB so I cancelled it.
3. Even later, the download size had changed again to 34.26MB. It’s been cancelled by me a couple of times too.
The reason is that this download will take a long time for me to get. My best download rate is around 1MB every 4 minutes, so this download would take over 2 hours. This is not too good when your ISP cuts you off automatically after 2 hours!
Unlike many people, I don’t have super-fast broadband, I have super-slow dial-up.
I gather from other threads that the update should now install OK, is this right? Either way, I’d be very grateful for any ideas for me to get these large updates!
