NIS v21.7.0.11
Vista Home Basic Laptop
Ok I had pulled up the GUI for my NIS v21.7.0.11 and I went to the support option just to confirm the version that I have. So I clicked that option and nothing happened except the Windows spinning circle. The GUI became a blurry white (you could still see the GUI screen but it was “cloudy”). The windows box popped up stating there was a problem and asking if I wanted to wait or close the program. I waited a few seconds but nothing happened, so I closed the program. I don’t think it closed out NIS as a service, just the GUI. The NIS icon was still green and in the systems tray after “closing”. I then waited a few seconds and opened the GUI again, and I was able to access the version number of my NIS. Being a little concerned I also clicked the get support now and it ran an “installation fix”. It showed 1 fix (installation fix)but was not specific on what was fixed. After, I shutdown the laptop ( not restart but shutdown) and then about 20 mins alter restarted the laptop
But I have a few questions I hope you all can help me with:
- I just want to confirm that when I selected the “close the program” option from the windows box, it was asking about closing the NIS GUI NOT NIS as a program?
- Did I mess up the NIS by doing the close the program now option?
As I say I am worried that I may have messed up my Norton. It still shows the green check mark, so I’m thinking all is ok. But still a little, just a little, concerned
