Did Norton discontinue my ability to backup to local hard drives?

Yes. all of Norton that support this feature that network backup is not allowed should be fired

I payed for this but now i not longer need it. I have a external storage and want to do my backup there. Can someone give me a good opportunity for a backup solution?

I will be cancelling my Norton subscription too as I am no longer getting the backup facilities that I paid for. I had Utilities too and now that’s gone.

I have not had a chance to test yet, but the announcement for latest version of 360 states that the local backup feature has been restored. Norton Security 24.12.9694 for Windows is now available!

I have been using the backup to a local drive for a couple of weeks since i bought a new laptop. This app still sucks.

It defaults to cloud backup, which then takes half an hour scanning something, spinning thing in the center of the box. Then it finally gets to where the local backup tap appears.

It should not default to the cloud backup but start off with the ability to select which you want.

I have been using Norton since the 1980’s. I am about to switch to something else.

Please fix this junk ASAP!

Another thing that needs to be fixed ASAP: every time you try to do anything in the Backup tabs, the spinning thing starts all over, and its another 30 minutes waiting . . . . . . . . . . .

maybe, try calling Cloud Backup with Cloud backups → Manage → Automatically sync = off

I have Automatically sync set to on and to my external hard drive.

Okay…just thinking if Cloud Backup with Cloud backups → Manage → Automatically sync was off … then Local backups… might open easier for you…since, you prefer Local

But, may not change

Caveat: I run Automatically sync = off
my external storage drive is not connected all the time…so, why run Automatically sync = on

I can back up my files manually. Just me.
