I have a HTC One M9 with Android 6.0 + NMS 3.14.0.3068 … Because of overheating + battery drainage issues, I have to power off several times a day. Is there a way to disable NMS from auto-scanning every time I power on? With NMS, Malewarebytes, and sometimes Lookout all kicking in at the same time, it really slows down having full access to my HTC. It would really help if I can manually scan at my discretion. !!! THANKS !!!
I fully agree with the OP, the copy/paste generic answer is worthless. Answering "everybody else does it" doesn't solve the problem. I can see where the OP is coming from. If he is having overheating problems, the last thing he needs is Norton chugging away scanning the phone needlessly. I also think it is bull that Norton's main idea of support is this forum. Norton needs to address issues, not some "guru" or "mobile master" that doesn't even know the product scans at startup. I dont mean that as an insult, I just mean that support should be given by employees of the company that are trained in the products. There should be options to disable the scan at bootup, and to disable it when you plug in. I have mine set to scan weekly, but it's still scanning 2 or 3 times a day. I don't want to open up the app and tell it to stop scanning. There needs to be more end user control.
