Disable Privacy Safeguard - How?

I use Firefox, Windows XP, Norton 360 21.1.0.18.

 

How do I enable\disable 'Privacy Safeguard'? I.e. enable or erase the Norton 360 safe search history kept by Ask (or do Norton keep my search history?).

 

What information is retained when I use Norton Safe Search?

The article states:

 

'You can turn on or turn off Privacy Safeguard using the Turn On Privacy Safeguard and Turn Off Privacy Safeguard options respectively.'

 

My question is how? What are the selection options to 'Turn Off Privacy Safeguard  options'.

If you go to safesearch then select "Search Settings" in the top right hand corner.  I think that is what you are looking for.

Hi - yes this is what I want but I get directed to a web page that Ask say does not exist (http://nortonsafe.search.ask.com/&tpr=11).

 

1. I go to http://nortonsafe.search.ask.com/

 

2. Select 'Search Settings' (top right).

 

3. Select 'Privacy Safeguard' - a pop up window is displayed titled 'Do you want to turn on the Privacy Safeguard?'.

 

4. Check the 'Erase Search History' check box - press 'OK'.

 

5. I am sent to a 'Oops! Page Not Found' page at http://nortonsafe.search.ask.com/&tpr=11

Hmm I see what you mean.  However it does seem to change something as if you go back through the process you come up with a different set of options.  Though the page not found does appear again.  So I think it is doing something but I must admit it is not very user friendly or clear.
