This is more annoyance than show-stopper, but when I received my "Fix Now" message from Norton 360 about optimizing my disk, it set off a long process that I finally aborted. The message I received was that my Drive C was fine but there was much more to go on Drive F, my external hard drive that backs up all my files, music, photos, etc.
Since I halted the process, I am now greeted by a red exclamation point over my Norton icon along with reminders to complete running Disk Optimizer. The last time I did that, it ran for six days. Then a Norton tech stepped in and cleared the screen remotely. I don't see any way to limit this program to just my primary hard drive; is there a fix that can be implemented to move things along without running Disk Optimizer for a week at a time?
Thanks in advance for any help members can provide.

Welcome richCA
I don't know how to limit the optimizer but I do know how to stop it
open 360 > click on settings > click on tasks scheduling > remove the check mark.
If you need to optimize your C: drive just use the windows defrag utility. You are limited there to the drive you select.
Well, whaddya know....I ran Registry cleanup after disconnecting Disk Optimizer and the warnings went away and the green light came back on. Thank you for the prompt and thorough reply; looks like we're back in business and I will be more aggressive about the Settings in the future.

Hi,
Glad to read that all is well now. Thank you for reporting back and for the kudo. Please don't be too aggressive, most of those thing are there for your protection. I will agree that Norton can be a bit over protective at times.
