Do I need System Restore point if I use Ghost?

There is System Restores point within System Volume Information folder for XP, I would like to know whether I need those information or not if I use Norton Ghost for restoring window.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I personally do not use System Restore since I have an incremental backup nightly. Another thing to note is that if you are using Ghost to do hot backups from within Windows, the System Volume Information folder is NOT backed up. So, if you restore an image the Windows System Restore Points are no longer available.

Will it be the best to turn off System Restores Points within System Volume Information? if I mainly use Norton Ghost to restore window.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks everyone very much for any suggestions

Hi,

For me, Ghost/SSR backup - Ghost/SSR restore points. Less confusion for me.

Stay well and surf safe

I get 4 HDDs, and check no virus on C: HDD, Virus is hidden on my data and backup HDDs, so I prefer to turn off System Restore for all drives.

Could you please tell me what good side is with keeping System Restore "ON"? if I mainly restore window using Ghost's image, does Ghost's image already have all good benefits as it compares with System Restore?

Thanks everyone very much for any suggestions

It is more reliable than system restore.

I haven't had it turned on for ten years. Even if it was turned on I wouldn't use it.

For those without an imaging app, it should be turned on.
