At the moment a number of people are unhappy with the latest upgrade of NMS. I think there is a valid point, in that I think it has not been done as well as we would normally expect from Norton. However some are saying that as a consequence they are abandoning NMS or even all Norton products. That is up to them but I had an interesting experience today which may, or may not, be relevant.
I went onto Google Play and thought I would browse through the latest apps. The third one that came up offered secure encryption for cloud storage. In this paranoid era it sounds like a good idea. But I am paranoid, and wonder who is offering this secure encryption, so I looked for details of the developer, all I can find is a website... I clicked on the website link and ,,,, NMS says ... blocked - "This is a known malicious website". Naturally I chose to exit the website and not try the app despite it having got through Google's checks. Now maybe Norton has been over cautious but I am happy to go with that, there are plenty of apps out there that do not generate that sort of result!
By the way the app was Tresorit. Apart from the comment from NMS I have no basis upon which to judge it. But it is operating in an area where I would not want to take a chance.
